Analytical agency TourStat presented the best winter resorts of the CIS countries based on an online survey, dedicated to the International Day of Snow, reports Today.kz.
The top five resorts of the CIS for winter holidays include resorts in Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.
According to the agency, 23 percent of the votes were cast for Shymbulak near Almaty, 16 percent for Shahdag and Tufandag resorts in Azerbaijan, and 32 percent of respondents voted for Belarusian Logoisk and Silichi.
Tsakhkadzor resorts in Armenia with eight percent of the votes and Karakol in Kyrgyzstan with six percent entered the top-5 winter resorts of the CIS countries. Five percent of the votes was for Chimgan in Uzbekistan.
In general, the table of the best winter resorts of the CIS in 2019 looks like this:
- Logoisk, Silichi, Minsk Region, Belarus
- Shymbulak, Almaty region, Kazakhstan
- Shahdag, Tufandag, Azerbaijan
- Tsakhkadzor, Armenia
- Karakol, Issyk-Kul region, Kyrgyzstan
- Chimgan, Uzbekistan
International Snow Day is annually celebrated on the penultimate Sunday of January in more than 40 countries of the world on the initiative of the International Ski Federation (FIS). This year the holiday will be held on January 20th. Since 2013, Astana has joined it. This year in the territory of the capital's Botanical Garden in honor of the Day of Snow will be held competitions in cross-country skiing among children under the age of 18 years, fun starts, children's competitions and entertainment.
